1969 Dodge DartA True Survivor!
The higher
powers at Dodge sanctioned the building of 640 1968 and 1969 Dart GTS
Coupes as part of their ongoing support of Super Stock Drag Racing. The
cars were converted to Hurst-Campbell Corporation under license from the
factory, which supplies 383 specification Dart GTS rolling stock and
440/375 HP engines equipped with four-barrel carburetion. Most of these
beasts went the way of the drag strip to compete in various classes.
This rare
GTS 440 Dart has never been restored and has less than 3500 miles.
Finished in plain Black inside and out in the timeless sleeper
tradition, its bodywork carries minimal identification in the form of
GTS badges and "440 4 Barrel" hood call outs. The cars is equipped with
power steering, power brakes, console-shifted Torqueflite automatic
transmission and an AM radio. Part of the RPM Collection, this 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 440 is exceedingly original, including interior, engine and drivetrain. No paint work has ever been performed on the car which is so finely preserved that it was featured in Mopar Collectors Guide magazine. No Shelf Queen, the car starts, runs and drives beautifully. Having survived the years in such glorious condition, it now stands as an eminently collectable "factory special".
